Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman is in Israel in an attempt to wrap up a cease-fire with Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.

Egypt releases detained Hamas men ... that Israel lift its blockade of Gaza as part of any truce deal. But Israel fears Hamas will only use a lull in fighting to rearm and prepare for another round of fighting. Gaza has been virtually sealed by Israel and Egypt since the violent Hamas takeover of the territory last June.
