Georgia has released aerial video footage that it says shows Russia has deployed heavy weaponry, alongside bolstered peacekeeping forces in the breakaway region of Abkhazia.
That would violate Russia's peacekeeping mandate. Russia bolstered its peacekeepers after several Georgian unmanned spy planes were shot down over Abkhazia. On Sunday night Georgia also detained five Russian soldiers in a town on the administrative border with Abkhazia. The soldiers were arrested after a drunken joyride in an armoured personnel carrier ended in a car accident, which injured one Georgian woman.
