An attack on a Pakistani military checkpost by some 200 pro-Taliban militants has triggered intense fighting that has left 25 insurgents and two paramilitary soldiers dead near the Afghan border.
An area intelligence official said the fighting broke out Wednesday in the Bajaur tribal region when paramilitary troops reoccupied the checkpost they had abandoned several months earlier.
