Five foreign pro-Tibet activists have been arrested after staging a protest in Beijing's central Tiananmen Square.
A joint statement issued by two overseas Tibet rights groups said one of those detained was from Germany. A number of small-scale demonstrations have been staged in the city since the opening of the Olympics. In a separate incident, one American has been killed and another injured in a knife attack by a Chinese man in Beijing.
